28th November 2024
Caridon Group is proud to announce that Suzanne Cooper, Director of Caridon Property and Founder and Registered Manager of Caridon Young Living, has been named the Social Care Superwoman (Children & Young People) at the prestigious Women Achieving Greatness in Social Care Awards (WAGS) 2024.
The awards ceremony, held at the Hilton Bankside in London, celebrates the extraordinary contributions of women leaders in the social care sector, promoting gender equity and inspiring future generations of leaders. Now in its third year, the WAGS Awards recognises accomplishments across all areas of social care leadership, from services for older people to initiatives supporting children, young people, and families.
Suzanne’s win acknowledges her exceptional leadership, resilience, and unwavering commitment to achieving transformative outcomes for young people, even in the face of challenges. As the driving force behind Caridon Young Living, Suzanne has created a specialist support and accommodation service tailored for young people aged 16-21 transitioning to independence. Her innovative approach has provided vulnerable individuals with not just a place to live, but the tools and support they need to build a brighter future.
Speaking about her award, Suzanne said:
"This award is a reflection of the incredible team at Caridon Young Living and the collective effort we put into creating meaningful, life-changing opportunities for young people. I am humbled and honoured to be recognised among such inspiring women, and I share this recognition with everyone who supports our mission."
Under Suzanne’s leadership, Caridon Young Living has become a beacon of hope for young people navigating the challenges of independence. The program provides tailored support, including access to education, employment opportunities, mental health services, and community engagement activities, ensuring each young person has the chance to thrive.
The WAGS Awards highlight the achievements of the predominantly female social care workforce, of which over 85% are women. By elevating stories of leadership, innovation, and responsibility, the awards aim to inspire and promote gender equity across the sector. The Social Care Superwoman (Children & Young People) category specifically celebrates leaders who have made a significant impact in improving outcomes for young people and families.
CEO of Caridon Group, Mario Carrozzo, commented:
"Suzanne’s recognition as a Social Care Superwoman is richly deserved. Her tireless dedication to improving the lives of young people is a true testament to her character and leadership. We are incredibly proud to have her as part of the Caridon team, and this award is a shining example of the difference one person can make."
