Caridon Property Takes on Tough Mudder in support of Legacy Youth Zone

19th August 2022

On Saturday 13th August, four members of Caridon Property team took part in the Tough Mudder challenge at Morden Park, London, raising vital funds for Legacy Youth Zone, a charity which Caridon has supported for many years. So far, the team has raised £400 but their target is £1000.

On one of the hottest days of summer, the team took on the gruelling 25 obstacle, 10k endurance challenge, including monkey bars, crawling, climbing, as well as wading through mud, ice water and even electric shocks.

Mario Carrozzo, CEO of Caridon Property, who was one of the participants said: “We’ve done walks, runs and sleep outs in the past, but Tough Mudder is one of those challenges you really have to prepare for – mentally and physically! They don’t call it an endurance challenge for nothing. We’d get to each obstacle and think ‘how are we going to do this’ and then the adrenaline kicks in and you chuck yourself into it. Ironically, the weather was so hot that we avoided being caked in mud, but we certainly didn’t escape the inevitable bruises and bumps along the way. But it was all worth it as Legacy relies solely on fundraising and donations to continue providing young people with their exceptional services and support.”

Legacy Youth Zone is a purpose-built facility in Croydon which provides a safe, inclusive, exciting place for all young people, regardless of their background, ability, or household income; and has an extensive range of facilities allowing young people to participate in a range of positive, inspiring and constructive activities.

It gives young people (aged 8 – 19, and up to 25 for those with disabilities) opportunities in the form of three things they want - somewhere to go, something to do and someone to talk to, all for just 50p per visit and £5 annual membership.

Grace Dench, Corporate Partnerships Manager forLegacy Youth Zone commented: “As a charity we have around £2 million a year to raise, and we simply wouldn’t be able to continue our vital work without the support of companies like Caridon. We are so grateful to anyone who supports Legacy with their fundraising challenges and encourage as many people and companies to get involved and help support young people in Croydon. Now more than ever young people need the support of the community, and we hope people will join us in reaching our vision – ensuring every young person can become the best version of themselves.”

Thank you so much to Caridon for continuously supporting Legacy by taking on our challenges!”
