Caridon hosts ‘Tea & Talk’ for staff

11th November 2022

To mark this year’s International Stress Awareness Week 2022, which took place from Monday 7 November to Friday 11 November, Caridon Group hosted a ‘Tea and Talk’ session for staff, offering individuals the opportunity to have an open discussion about stress they may be experiencing within or outside of the workplace.

The team at Caridon’s head office set up an anonymous online suggestion box for staff to write any concerns they had or tips for coping with stress and poor mental health. A ‘sticky note’ wall was also set up for staff to write down and anonymously post their suggestions with colleagues.

Mario Carrozzo, CEO of Caridon Group, said “Stress Awareness Week is a major annual event which I feel should be recognised by more organisations. It focuses on stress management and campaigns against the stigma associated with stress and mental health issues, which can often be ignored or overlooked in the workplace. If we can encourage staff to talk about things that are troubling them, we’re not only able to help, we can promote positive mental health and also improve staff turnover. We want staff to feel happy and supported in the workplace and be encouraged to remain with us and progress their careers.”

According to Mental Health Foundation, at some point in the last year, 74% of us have felt so stressed that we have felt unable to cope. The psychological effects of stress result in people feeling anxious, worrying or even having suicidal thoughts.
